Features
- $200 Offer: get a $200 bonus if you spend $2000 in the first 90 days. This is the best offer on this card.
- Earn an additional 4% on Rakuten purchases; earn 5% extra cash from Rakuten food partners; earn 2% cashback on shopping and restaurants; and get 1% cash back on everything else.
- You can choose to link your Rakuten account to an AmEx Membership Rewards (MR) account, and transfer it back to MR points at a 1:1 ratio. You can also choose to link your Rakuten account to a Bilt account, and transfer its money back to Bilt points at a 1:1 ratio for a limited time (after 2026.5 the ratio will be 1:0.5 or more depending on the status of your Bilt account).
- There is no annual fee.
Evil
- There is a minimum 4% cashback rate on Rakuten purchases: up to $7,000 per calendar year.
- The issuer is small (powered by Imprint, issued by First Electronic Bank).
- It has a foreign transaction fee, so it’s not a good option outside of the US.
Summary
You can buy almost anything at Rakuten, so this card is a 4% online shopping card. The maximum limit is $7,000 per year.
