Debt and Credit
Hopeful credit renewal – Student loans

As of today, my student loan principal debt is $16,400… We’re on our way! You can see my end of October update here.
I don’t expect to pay any more this month even though I think more money is coming in. But I’ve learned better than to count my chickens before I rescue them like that. And it should be able to pay more than my goal of $2,000 per month next month.
Not unexpected, but unknown
I have some expenses this coming month that I’m not sure about, so I’ll be careful until I get them. That’s right:
- Transfer my car registration to Texas. I decided to bite the bullet and make that transition. It would only cost me $25 to maintain my georgia registration (it renews on your birthday every year and mine is the following month.) Or, I still have legal residency in Georgia. (And it’s my daughter’s apartment so I won’t be staying there.)
- Transfer my LLC business to Texas. In the long run, this should save money because Texas does not have a state income tax unlike Georgia, but I know there will be some associated costs. Technically, this could hold me until 2026, but I’m getting ready.
- Renew my legal residence with my insurance. I don’t know how this will affect my insurance rate. Princess just had her own policy, so now it’s just me. I paid my 6 month in full so I will get a refund even if I owe more. I’m not sure.
- A new source of health. I decided to make a move with my health insurance. The cost of my existing plan, even removing the princess, will continue in January. And since my gym lover and I both live in Texas, we need to find one that can help us here. (Sidenote: He’s going back to school in January. In fact, he’s taking his placement test as I write this. Woot!)
- Change my driver’s license. Again, not unexpected. Not sure about the associated costs.
I had all these things in my budget with ??? not knowing the cost. But I’ll bite the bullet next month and get them all.
