AllState and the Aspen campus focus on developing trust

Washington, Oct. 28, 2025Today, Allstate and the Aspen Institute launched the Trust in Awards to strengthen public relations and build trust across America. AllState has awarded $5 million to community organizations that support community engagement, volunteering and bridging the gap with community partners.

Why is trust important in societies?
Trust is essential to the health and strength of communities. Recent ATSSTATE research shows:

  • Trust has declined: Only 41% of Americans say they trust each other, consistent with research showing a broad decline in trust over the past three decades.
  • The Trust calls for public support: People who trust others are more likely to say that they will help their friends and neighbors, reinforcing the culture of care and help.
  • Trust starts in communities: Efforts that build trust among neighbors, schools and community organizations lay the foundation for community strength and unity. Good news 74% of Americans feel optimistic about the future of their community.
  • Community Trust Builds National Power: High levels of trust at the local and individual household level are linked to a thriving economy, vibrant democracy and greater public involvement and community cohesion.

What is trust in performance?
The Trust in Awards Awards support non-profit organizations that collaborate on innovative initiatives to build trust in local or virtual communities. Crantpees will be part of a national network dedicated to promoting trust through Alliances through Social Trust programs and media platforms. Award recipients will participate in the annual Trust in Practice conference to celebrate the work of trust builders.

Selection methods
Proper delivery will be checked in the following areas.

  • Each application must include a non-profit organization that will partner with at least two non-profit organizations to build trust through a commitment to issues that focus on community engagement and connecting local or virtual communities.
  • Grants will be selected based on the impact of public trust levels, the strength and commitment of the organization’s leadership, operational capabilities and the potential to expand the curriculum.
  • Selected organizations will be awarded at least $100,000.

How do organizations apply for Trust in Awards?
