AmEx Amazon Business Prime Credit Card (Update 2026.3: Issuing Switched to US Bank)
2026.3 Update: Cardholders should have received an email by now: on August 14, 2026, the issuer of this card will switch from American Express to US Bank. This change is likely to be a mixed bag. On the other hand, some people are locked out of AmEx or are tight on their AmEx credit card facilities, so having an Amazon card removed from AmEx can actually be a good thing. On the other hand, US Bank is generally known to be very difficult when it comes to approval, so some people may not be able to get approved for this card.
2020.10 Update: Reminder: 5% return cap is now in effect. Also, based on the latest data points, AmEx now only allows you to hold one of these cards at a time, so you can’t increase the cap by holding multiples of this card.
2020.6 Update: The offer is now $125. Starting Oct.1, you’ll earn 5% or 3% Back only on the first $120,000 of purchases each calendar year, 1% Back after that.

- $125 Gift: get a $125 Amazon Gift Card after approval (Donation is $100 for non-Prime members)
- Earn 5% back at Amazon, Whole Foods, Amazon Business, and AWS if you’re an Amazon Prime member (3% if not), 2% back at restaurants and gas stations (1% if not), 1% back on all other purchases. To get 5%, you need to use your Amazon account. Primary membership of the student and calculation of primary membership of the examination also.

Evil
- Thought it looks like there is no annual fee, you actually need to remember that the prime membership costs you a certain amount every year.
- You’ll earn 5% or 3% Back on only the first $120,000 of purchases each calendar year, 1% Back after that.
- AmEx only allows you to hold one of these cards at a time, so you can’t raise the cap by holding multiples of this card.
Recommended Application Period
- You can only get a welcome bonus once in a lifetime, so be sure to apply when the historically highest offers appear.
- AmEx does not care about the amount of withdrawals.
- You can try to apply if you have a credit history of 6 months.
Only one AmEx credit card can be approved per day. This rule does not apply to charge cards, you can be approved for one credit card and multiple charge cards per day.Multiple cards approved on the same day will only have one Hard Pull.- Only 2 AmEx credit cards can be approved within 90 days, but again, this rule does not apply to charge cards.
- You can maintain a minimum of 5 AmEx credit cards, excluding charge cards.
Summary
The $225 signup bonus is decent and made even better with no annual fee + no external transaction fees. If you spend a lot of money on Amazon, and you’re already an Amazon Prime member, it’s a decent card with 5% cash back. The benefits of this card are very similar to the personal Chase Amazon Prime card. You should choose one depending on which bank you like best, or remember that holding this card will take up one fifth of your Amex credit card.
