Benefits
- $500 Bonus: earn $500 after spending $5,000 in the first 3 months. The latest good offer is $750.
- Earn 3% in the category of your choice: gas stations (auto), office supplies, travel, TV/telecom & wireless, computer services or business communication services. And earn 2% cash back on food. Earn 1% cashback on every purchase.
- BoA Preferred Rewards program (business version): If you have a checking/savings/trading account (business version) with BoA or Merrill Edge, you can earn extra points based on the value of the property. Earn 25% more rewards if you’re in the Gold category ($20k balance or more); 50% if Platinum tier ($50k balance or more); 75% if Platinum Honors tier ($100k or more in balance).
- There is no annual fee.
Evil
- You’ll only earn 3% and 2% cash on the first $50,000 in compounded bonus categories each calendar year, and then earn 1%.
- It has a foreign transaction fee, so it’s not a good option outside of the US.
Recommended Application Period
- We recommend that you apply for this card after you have a credit history of at least one year.
- [New] 2/3/4 Rule: BoA will only allow a minimum of: 2 cards per 2 month roll; 3 cards per 12 month roll; and 4 cards per 24 months. Because their IT system has not been fully updated, you may not be denied due to this rule. Instead, you may be initially authorized, and then the account will be closed due to “mistaken authorization”.

Summary
Its sign-up bonus is pretty good for a no-fee card. This card is the same in terms of spending rewards, note that the 3% online shopping category like its personal version is not in this business version. However, if you can’t reach the BoA Preferred Rewards level (business version), then the spend rewards can be great.
