So in an effort to be the smallest here – AND – to raise a little money for my cold and hungry homeless friends, I’m tackling one of the hardest places known to entrepreneurs:

OUR DOMAIN NAME CERTIFICATE!!

Which is, EVERYTHING, pretty cool and worth MILLIONS of dollars if we ever get it off the ground, but as Derek Sivers likes to say – ideas are worthless unless they’re done 😉 EVERYTHING this time I am sure that if I have not done it in the last 10 years I will never…

But maybe you could use one of these?! Maybe one of these domains is the missing piece of the puzzle in getting your passion project off the ground?!

#1) PFBloggers.com It’s gone! Enjoy, Tom!

This is an old school take from the Rockstar Finance days of 2013, and we’ve been using it for our community Blog Directory. Well we ended up merging it with RF itself so it didn’t become its own site, but I’ve stuck with it ever since I wanted to build another directory and… sadly it’s still not on our site, even after all these years 🙁

But maybe you could be the one to work again? 🙂 It’s a totally straightforward word, isn’t it?

And interestingly enough, after plugging it into the Wayback Machine, I found out that it was once the home of the creators of finance back in 2008!

The Personal Finance Bloggers Network (PF Bloggers for short) currently has 7 blogs that cover personal finance and frugal living. We are not financial experts but just regular people with goals for a debt and worry free life.

How cool is that? You might even remember its original founders if you’ve been around a while:

This was another site we were going to use the fields of Rockstar Finance (2014), but it was regrouped into one big hub… But what’s a short and sweet name for an online community??! Or a site or blog attached to a business or app or something in the financial space? Of course it would make it easier to remember the redirect url as well, however in my opinion it is strong enough to make a living 🙂

This is going to be the hardest one to go with as I still really like the name and want to hold out hope that I will end up using it!, but then again if I haven’t touched it in 9 years then I won’t be able to… 😭

#3. MoneyLatte.com Now It’s Gone!! Thank you, Jessica!

Ok – now this is my favorite of ALL my unused domains, and 100% what I would build my next blog on if I ever needed to start a new one from scratch… Just think of all that organic traffic you could get talking about saving money over coffee ad nauseam! 🤣

But seeing as I ended up buying BudgetsAreSexy back for good, I don’t think I can handle another one, although I’ve been tempted by a short – quick – budget share to help people start their day better (kind of like what caffeine does to you! Hey!), so in that vein this would make a good home, but also would I pull the trigger on it again??! Probably not.

So it’s all yours if you want to steal my idea!! 🙂

I love this site so much too. And I even called one of our programs “Debt Drop” back in the day when I used to hang out with Melanie Lockert of DearDebt.com to share some love…

We used to go around paying off people’s debts anonymously, and then take over this domain in case we wanted to do “legitimate” work. After 2-3 years we took a break, but alas I have been reviving it ever since and I am holding back tears as it sits gathering dust 😢

Of all the fields this is the one I would love to see someone take over and continue to put out GOOD in the world as we still need so much help out there, especially with debt. It hurts so much for people!!

When Jay Money and I did our national Love Drop tour in 2011, we needed to buy a URL for a new site we were building, and Jay had to help me with the name. For whatever reason he just didn’t want to, and I told him that if he didn’t give me his thoughts by the end of the day, I’d just name it Squidpants International.

He didn’t, I did.

I bought the URL and posted a picture I took of him that day buying a lottery ticket and he told me why he was too busy to help me with a name. What you see is the entire website.

Here we are, 13 years later, when I got my annual URL renewal bill, and I continue to pay it, just because the joke still makes me laugh whenever I think about it. And because it brings back so many great memories of working together, being stressed, laughing out loud, and putting some love into the world 🖤

What is me? it should to actually use one of these domains on the Spite Site a la Larry David so I don’t have to hear about this every year, haha, but seeing how good I am at these two I’ll take the high road with respect 😉

Anyway, that’s what we have today! And I’m proud to say that I haven’t bought a *new* domain name in years, and even smarter – I don’t buy them drunk anymore!! 😂
