November 2025 Fire Renewal – Retirement at 40

Hello everyone! 2025 is fast approaching. Are you ready for the holidays? It will be a little different for us this year. Mr. RB40 is going to CA for six weeks. She’s in the process of moving her dad into an assisted living facility, and there’s a ton of work to be done. We will come down at Christmas time and spend the holidays with him. We hope his father can stay in his house for another three years, but he didn’t go out that way. You need more help now. However, Mrs. Rb440 will spend about 50% of her time in California next year. It will be difficult for our son. He likes to be around his mother. Everything is running for a long time when he is at home.

On the financial side itself, we had a pretty good month. Our fair value has reached a new high again. The stock market is doing very well this year. No one knows what will happen next year. I’m afraid of this whole ai bubble, but you have to keep investing. Last month, our cash flow was fine. We have withdrawn savings to connect some holes, but that’s what retirement is about. I’m getting used to being in the withdrawal phase of retirement.

Ok, I’m going to share how I made my New Year’s resolutions. After that, I will go over our value and cash flow. Let’s go!

2025 goals

Here is my spreadsheet for 2025 cows. It helps. Try it if you can’t keep up with your New Year’s resolutions. The key is to review the spreadsheet every month to track your progress. That way, you can see which goals need more attention and work on them.

Yes, 2025 is over cooked. I will make it easy in December. Some goals won’t be 100% done, but that’s okay. Overall, I did well.

Financial goals

Sell Rent Condo

This was my main goal for 2025. The previous tenant was evicted from our rental condo in January. I fixed it up and put it up for sale. Unfortunately, the condo market was terrible in Portland. We have only had one viewing in 4 months! I think buyers are afraid. That’s why I decided to rent a condo for now. We will put it on the market again next year. The interest rate is a little low, and I hope it sells.

Prplex Duplex for sale

Along the same lines, I want to sell our duplex after our RB40JR graduates high school in 2029. We want to move to southern California to be closer to family. Mrs. Rb40’s parents are getting old, and they need more help. My father lives in Thailand, and he will also need more help.

* We live in one unit and tear another.

This year, I was planning to remodel the exterior. However, the plan changed and he went to the kitchen in the kitchen. Our kitchen was out of date. We also updated the cabinetry, new countertop, and new flooring. The kitchen is much better now and should be a good selling point. I call you this one.

Max Out My Roth IRA

A Roth IRA is the best investment account you can have. You don’t have to pay tax on the gains when you withdraw. This is great. If you start small and max out your Roth IRA every year, it will be a great resource for retirement.

I have increased my roth IRA contribution for over 20 years. But that alien will probably end this year. My earnings are dropping fast. After 11 months, I made $6,4088. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll break $8,000. It’s almost time to switch to full retirement.

Track Value and Hope for +10%

I have been tracking our net worth since 2006. Good to see progress. This year, I was hoping for 10% returns. At this time, everything depends on the stock market, and there is not much I can do to influence this objective. I will follow it and keep my fingers crossed. This is a simple objective.

Our net worth is up 10.3% since the beginning of the year! Wow, that’s crazy. The stock market is not safe. I will enjoy it while this euphoria wears off.

Life Goals

Exercise more than a year ago

Last year, I set a goal to exercise 3 times a week. However, I developed elbow pain, and had to go back. Result – I used 120 times in 2024. That wasn’t bad, but I’d like to do more this year.

I exercised 5 times in November. That was bad. I did a year. Next year, I need to come up with a new gym.

Win Claim Denial

Last year, the RB40JR received a Kokheleni installation to improve its sound. He had 30%-60% hearing in his left ear. He tried a hearing aid for a few years, but it didn’t help much. He can hear some sound in his left ear, but he can’t understand talking on this side.

Recently, the FDA approved the inclusion of children. At first, I thought we could wait until the RB40JR is an adult. Then he can decide for himself. However, our geographer said that in the beginning you get a better focus. If you wait too long, the brain may not be able to adapt.

However, he received an induction last year. However, the insurance company denied that. They said that the cooclear implant is experimental and does not improve throughout life. This is funny. The device has been used since the 80s to improve lives. We fight rejection. I think health insurance companies deny as many claims as possible to maximize profits. Many people are very sick of fighting and rejecting. Not everyone hates health insurance companies.

Latest update – Denial is final. However, our audiologist team refers the hospital to write the majority of the surgical fee. It was a success! This hospital wrote most of the rules for surgery, and is on the hook only for anesthesiology. Many thanks to the hospital and the audiology team. They are amazing.

Happy Goals

Sell my Ceramic projects

I took some pottery classes at a community center and had a blast. My projects aren’t up to par yet, but I’ll try to sell a few things this year at the Community Center art sale.

I sold about $190 in spring sales! That was amazing. I didn’t expect to sell so many pieces. Community Center took a 35% commission. It’s very good. I am happy to support them.

This was my table at Holiday Arts & Craft Sele. I hope to sell about 30 pieces. We don’t have room at home for all these pieces.

Many days with the missus

This year, I want to go out with Mrs. Rb440 more often. If you are a parent, you know how difficult this can be. Fortunately, our son is young now. We can go out whenever we want. However, I need to overcome my reluctance to leave the house in the evening. We parked on the street and finding a spot can be frustrating at night. Ugh! I would rather pull down at home than go out to a restaurant.

I’ll go for lunch with Mrs Rb40 instead. That’s easy. Who wants to walk home after dark?

In November, we went out twice.

PROUNY LOUDE>8

I’m a happy person by nature so this should be easy. Life has been good for the past few years.

I had a great November. Everything was working fine. No major problems.

The right amount (+What is trusted.+%)

I have been tracking our net worth since 2006. It is very encouraging to see our progress. The power of integration is amazing. Our investments draw on the income that our money earned in the previous year.

2025 was crazy. The stock market is doing much better than I expected. The AI revolution continues to drive the premium market. It’s hard to be an employee these days, but at least the investors are doing well.

*** Important *** If you are young (under 50), my best advice is to stay the course. Don’t stop investing. You should continue to invest whether the stock market is going up or down. You may think stocks are expensive, but they will look cheap in 10 years. Keep investing and you will find financial freedom one day. Don’t try to time the market. If you are retired, then you need to save more and separate.

November 2025 to wrap up

November was a good month for the RB40 house. Ms. RB40 went to CA again, but only for 2 weeks. We can handle that. His next trip will be six weeks long. That will be difficult. We will survive, but the house will be a big deal when it goes back. We will take a breath in December and rest. Have a great holiday!

That’s November. Did you have a good month?
