Where to get a free turkey for Thanksgiving 2025
If a bird is the centerpiece of your Thanksgiving table, the feast of the year may come with a small bonus — you may not have to pay.
Several grocery chains around the country offer Bogo deal birds, broken-in holiday food packages and, in some cases, free-range turkeys.
While food prices are still about 2.7% higher than a year ago, the overall cost of living has fallen slightly. A Wells Fargo analysis found that a meal for 10 people now costs about 2% to 3% less than last year — about $80 for store-name items or $95 for name-brand products.
Prices in Turkey are up about 3.7% year on year, too. But why pay full price when you don’t have to?
The best free turkey for Thanksgiving 2025
Free Turkey offers are popping up all over the country – some regional, some national. Scroll through the grocery list to see which stores near you offer birds.
1. ACME Market
Consumers who spend $300 or more between Oct. 17 and November 27 can redeem a free signature Select Farms frozen turkey (10 to 7 pounds).
ACME’s ACCE ACCOUNT is required, and the free Turkey coupon must be valid before making a valid purchase.

2. Albertsons
Starting November 13 Starting November 13, Albertsons is giving away free 16- to 20-pock turkeys from select farms. To qualify for this online-only deal, shoppers must spend $150 or more on a single food order for pickup or delivery placed using the Albertsons for U app or Albertsons.com.

3. Foodtown
Verseast Grouchery Chain Foodtown offers 10- to 20-pound turkeys
The grocer operates mainly under the category of traditional food products and high-quality food. However, it operates in several locations under different names, such as peck’s and peck’s wallet and shop n (all under the co-op retail services).

4. The Giant
Giant’s Rewards members can get a free Shady Brook turkey farm (20 pounds) when they earn 400 rewards points between Oct. 1 and November 27. This offer is valid in-store or online from November 27.
Hack’s reward is the one that was worn: Shoppers can get 300 points right off the bat when they buy three participating items in the bonus box that week’s purchase

5. HY-VEE
Through November 30, shoppers can get a honeysuckle white honeysuckle honeysuckle turkey or jennie-o (up to 12 pounds) with the purchase of a hormel 81 Ham treat at all bee locations.

Locations: More than 240 places, mainly in Marwelestenn sections
6. Heb
Shoppers at Texas-based grocer Heb can get a free Riverside frozen turkey (up to 12 pounds) with the purchase of Heb’s sliced ham or lean ham (half or whole). This agreement is effective on November 27.

Locations: Over 440 stores in Texas and Mexico
7. Shoprite
Shoprite Rewards members who spend at least $400 using their club card between Oct. 26 and November 27 can look for holiday holiday turles, Turks turkeys, slow-moving turk’y-based turk’y turjects.
This deal is not available in Maryland locations.

8. Weis markets
Through November 27, shoppers who earn up to 400 points (equivalent to $400) using their weis rewards card can get one free holiday item. Points can be used to redeem free-range turkey, turkey breast, bone-in ham or vegan tofurky.

9. Winco Foods
Starting November 19, Winco Foods is giving away honeysuckle White, northern or Jennie-o Grade turkeys when shoppers spend at least $125 on a single purchase. Promotion ends November 26.

Locations: More than 140 stores, mainly in the western states, Texas and Oklahoma
10. BHOSHERLE WHOLELALE CLUB
BJ’s free turkey deal is back this year. Members who spend $150 or more in a single transaction from November 1-10 qualify for a free butterball turkey.
Starting November 15, members can redeem their free Turkey coupon online or in store through November 26. Customers need to check the app or their BJS.com account to see if they qualify.

Locations: More than 210 locations in 17 (primarily) Eastern states (primarily), including Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Ohio, New Jersey and New York.
Where to find discounted food deals this year
Several national food chains are offering plenty of Thanksgiving treats this year.
Aldi has a $40 dinner package that serves a family of 10, featuring a 14-pound jennie-o turkey, macaroni and cheese, cranberry beans, mashed potatoes, mashed potatoes, Hawaiian rolls and pumpkin pie. This agreement is effective on December 24.
Walmart is back with its annual Thanksgiving bundle under $40 — up from $55 last year, though it has a few more items. This year’s package includes a 13.5 pound turkey Like Aldi, the batch is designed to feed 10 people.
Kroger also offers a bag for about $47.50, with many of the same items as Aldi and Walmart, enough to feed 10 people.
For smaller gatherings, Target has plenty of Thanksgiving dishes for under $20, including turkey (up to 10 pounds), potatoes, cranberry sauce, stuffing, French bread and more.
For those who could use more help this holiday season, non-profit organizations such as the Salvation Army and Feeding America are preparing to play Thanksgiving or provide food in thousands of locations across the country. Many food pantries also offer free items to help families celebrate the holiday.
In addition to national benefits, local organizations such as travel clubs often use holiday food drives or distribute free turkeys and ingredients to families in need. To find these community efforts, check local bulletin boards, community centers or Social Media pages.
