The AllState Foundation is making $5 million to address the immediate needs of survivors of relationship abuse

Northbrook, ill., November. 13, 2025 – The Allstate Foundation provides $5 million in funding to the National Femenuld Nextline Hotline and FreeFrom. These transitional grants will support the immediate needs of survivors: Emergency Funding and financial assistance to achieve safety. The Allstate Foundation has donated more than $100 million to break the cycle and reduce the prevalence of domestic violence over the past 20 years, including $9 million to organizations in the field of domestic violence this year. And in 2025, survivor empowerment network launched to connect and engage with employers to create workplaces that support survivors.

Supporting the Needs of Survivors

1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men will experience relationship abuse in their lifetime¹and almost all of them will also endure financial abuse. Survivors report that access to financial services is the highest barrier to access to safety, with average access to $175.50².

• The funds will allow the hotline to answer more calls and increase capacity, including establishing an Atlanta Advocate Center. These efforts will continue the hotline’s work to provide life-saving support to survivors and their loved ones as volume increases throughout the year, with more than half a million calls answered in 2025 to date.
• Through FreeFrom, the money will go directly to their financial assistance programs that enable survivors to build financial security and independence.

Inviting Employers to Create Survivor Workplaces

Survivors lose 8 paid days of work a year as a result of domestic violence, the equivalent of 32,000 full-time jobs⁺. In addition, more than 90% of survivors say the abuse affected their ability to keep a job⁴. That’s why the Allstate Foundation launched the Exploitation Survivor Network, a national program that invites employers to create heavy-duty workplaces to survive. This new Forum fulfills SaltState’s year-long commitment to help address the issue of domestic violence.

Through the survivor empowerment network, employers have access to effective tools to help protect survivors’ dignity, support their financial independence and create a safe environment:

• Dynamic Scheduling of Jobs
• Paid time off and protected leave
• Paycheck is progressive and flexible (eg, split direct deposit)
• Mental Health Resources
• Domestic Violence Awareness Training for management and staff
